This is like 4chan and others, it's ephemeral. There's a limit to the number of threads, new stuff comes in at the top, if there's more posts to a thread they go to the top.

Eventually a thread will get a time out limit and even when new posts are made, it stays at the bottom until it's pushed off.

That's in an ideal world. Sometimes a thread is overtaken by a bunch of assholes arguing with each other and a mod puts it into time out mode and lets it slowly die at the bottom of the chatter.
