i know someone that works in a facility that specializes in recovering data, so they sort of had it done for me without having to pay for it. sadly im pretty sure depending on your type of failure it will be VERY expensive. the process itself though seems to have recovered everything, maybe a few things lost, but id probably never notice. although, some files recovered without their original file name, which has been a pain in the ass.
