So...there's a likely chance that my state government is going to sign an age verification bill. Putting aside the VPN advice for a moment, if you happen to live in a state that was affected by this, what were some of the websites you were able to access without having to bypass anything?

From what I gathered from other people, some were able to access adult websites that weren't based in the US. Plus so far, I didn't hear any word about other rule 34/hentai sites being affected by this either. Mind you, that last part doesn't make any sense but I wasn't sure if the IP just gets blocked.

I just want to know what to expect once this is inevitably mandated.

For the sake of privacy, Ill give you a hint.

It's the same state that gained a lot of national attention for the supreme court ruling on IVF.

I don't care for inbred hillbilly land.
>>what were some of the websites you were able to access without having to bypass anything?

Everything with the exception of Pornhub, Spankbang, Manyvids, Chaturbate, Xvideos, and RedTube.

Although I don't frequent much of the smaller/lesser known sites.
PS my state has that ID law. I just use a VPN because i'm too lazy to log in everytime to these sites

Wait XVideos was blocked in your area?

From what I gathered from the NC subreddit, people didn't have any issue trying to access it, so I just assumed that it wasn't an America-based website that managed to exempt itself from the law.

Well in that case, could the same be said for the Rule34/Hentai sites? You know like your Rule34Video, your E-Hentais, your boorus, etc.

Personally, I doubt they would be affected by the mandate, but given what happened to E621, it's likely exceptional if any one of them gets singled out.

Plus, I also doubt that this would affect my access to BBWChan.
Just use the Opera browser, it has a free VPN function.

Apparently not a true VPN, but it will spoof any pornsite enough to get your kicks guaranteed.

I'm in the UK and we get a fuck tonne of court rulings against site sharing sites, click it on and off you go.

In America, pornography is considered vulgar by conservatives like the Daily Wire. All the pornography is owned by MAGA, including the used auto and gun stores. Conservatives want pornography as a distraction from the war, the border, crime.
>>47875
Again this is on conservatives. They want to own the libs, own MAGA, and be respectable. Now they can't sell Fox News and their money talks are boring MAGA with their age verification bills.
No matter what, these bills are essentially not well thought out by designed. It's all political theater meant to scare and intimidate adult sites into complying to their arbitrary rules. What they didn't count on is that no self-respecting website is going to risk a security breach over people doing things in the privacy of their bedroom.

If a bill has that many loopholes to work around with, then all it did was made things completely tedious, not contraband. Especially if you can easily access a website with or without the use of a VPN.

The only big difference between my state bill and the others is that they placed a 10% tax on producing porn. Which is why it wouldn't surprise me if this ends up getting challenged once it immediately passes.

In fact, I can only hope that the bills from other states can be reversed in some form and based on how things are looking right now, it's possible that it might be the case.

>>Wait XVideos was blocked in your area?

My mistake I got my sites mixed up. It's XHamster that's blocked. XVideos is still open.

I flat out don't know what you mean. I don't consider myself part of the adult industry despite being Kisame17. I don't like putting labels on my art due to growing up in a working town that's midsized.
>>47885
What I'm trying to get at is that websites like Pornhub have every reason not to comply to these rules because they don't do anything to solve the problem. It's not a conspiracy to say that these bills are created as intimidation tactics.
>>47876
Truth be told, I've been kinda 50/50 on the Opera VPN. While I'm aware that it's free--as far as I know--I know some people brought up that it can be rather slow and that they might doing some stuff with your data every time you use it.

But who knows, if I don't have much of a choice then I guess I'll likely have to consider the option.

I doubt it given that conservatives are often ineffectual intellectuals who will lose cause of moral clarity. They're only winning cause liberals are such social aspies that they make Trump look normal
So I have a bit of a positive(?) update regarding my state bill that might work against its favor. So based on how the legislation schedule goes, the bill had already passed the senate and has been waiting on the signature since the 23rd legislative day. But as I looked on the website, any bill that makes it to the governors desk fewer than five days have more of a chance of getting signed within 10 days before adjournment.

In other words, HB164 may not have a chance of getting signed.

Is it a guarantee? Probably not but I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

While I’m at it, I’m gonna provide a link that leads to the free speech coalition website that tracks all the bills from each state.

So…another update…it turns out it was already enacted….goddamnit.

Well…I guess it’s only a matter of time when it goes into effect. Might as well start researching some info about VPNs, maybe even consider getting Opera browser since I don’t want to spend any cash. I still think this is gonna get challenged in court due to the 10% tax aspect.

I think red states are banning porn cause that's where the Midwestern and south anime conventions are. I vividly remember inbred hillbilly bragging about MAGfest and the preg community going to those conventions with the orgies.

Lawyers aren't going to jeopardize their credibility on frivolous entertainment. Guliani cleaned up Times Square and now he's ok trouble cause family values conservative used deceit to achieve goals.

He is going lose the house when that small business closes up for stealing union work
>>48079
Found out some more info about when this bill goes into effect and it will be no more than October 2024.

This should give me enough time to research on VPNs. That being said, I still think that nobody should take that bill tracker website link for granted. Lately, there's been some bills out there that are trying to turn porn into some Class C felony. So if you happen to live in Tennessee, I would probably keep a close eye on it.

Ban loli before BBWchan gets banned.
So while I was lurking on Rule34.xxx, I discovered that even they aren't safe from the age verification crisis. Slayerduck announced that they were in the process of creating a duplicate site for those who don't have access, though they still suggest that people still get a VPN.

So far, this makes it the 2nd booru site--along with E621--to be affected by this, which brings into question about the future of similar websites out there.

You can find the post here at the bottom of the page: https://rule34.xxx/index.php?page=forum&s=view&id=9793&pid=30
That being said, I have been keeping track of the Free Speech Coalition and their efforts in stamping out the bills. Turns out a couple weeks ago, they were granted permission by the supreme court to make their case against Paxton. Now if my judicial knowledge is correct, it's possible that if the FSC were to win this, then it could set a precedent for all the other states going forward. Thought it will probably be a while before we hear anything about it.

Here's their statement: https://www.freespeechcoalition.com/blog/supreme-court-grants-cert
