There are many examples of how gainers get a bigger belly if they regain the weight once lost.

It seems that the fat is more belly focused when it returns. I'm curious about how it works?
on the first gain the fat cells in the stomach area need to be formed first
for the second gain they are already there and can easily absorb the excess calories, instead of the body creating new fat cells

I don't know if this is universal. I'm aware of several women on IG who were SS at a young age, lost a lot of weight, and went way more pear-shaped when they gained it back. I've gotta get to work but I'll try to put together a couple of pic examples later.

Thing is, they were still relatively young for the regain. Women do go through hormonal changes as they get older where they'll tend to put on more in their bellies than their hips/asses in general, gain or regain.

Dude, the human body never actually gains or loses fat cells, they just become bigger and smaller.
