Because the comics are dogshit and WGs numbers are almost entirely the type to even attempt to try and read the old stuff, Marvel movies are dogshit, Marvel cartoons are dogshit (still funny that with both Marvel and Disney teamed up on it, they can only put out shows that are leagues inferior to when Sony had the rights), Soyny Holland era is dogshit except for the last one, Soyny animated Spiderman movies are watchable.

Honestly comics have a bad perception problem online because cringe and bad stories get a LOT more traction than anything good still coming out. Some of it is from adaptations (MCU specifically) being bad and some of it is due to culture warriors on either side having a vested interest in that.

It's all very repetitive as if people are acting out a script and I don't like engaging with it.

For years, the only things I've heard a lot more people like than hate was what led to the current villain era of the X-Men, Ultimate Spidermans reboot, and the X-Men 97 cartoon that apparently is doing shit.

The fact I've come across one or two fat assed Rogue pics really shows I'm not the least bit wrong and if anything, it shows I'm understating it when fat artists are given a meme for weight gain and barely any picks it up.

I'm going to make a fool out of myself with this but I can go for a good rant.

Gwen sucks imo. Costume never did anything for me and I'm even more disinterested in her Spider-Verse iteration who doesn't really have much going on besides being a love interest for Miles. Some of my feelings towards her is years of bitterness towards writers dragging up original Gwen's corpse and pretending she's something she never was but even on her own, they did nothing with the concept. Instead of using her as a springboard for other reimaginings, they kept crossing her over with the regulars instead. There's no connective theme to her reality the few times we got to see other corners of it either.

Being join to Miles' hip in most people's eyes is amusingly fitting considering she suffers a lot of the same issues his critics give him after moving universes. It's even worse with her honestly. I don't think they had anything going for her beyond the gimmick and the in process moving her to the regular Marvel universe, presumably so can get with Miles, will likely kill the character in the long run.

Remember when fans of her book wished she got with her Mary Jane?

I never hear or see anyone talking about it, and there's been a trickle of fat art; a cartoon for an IP that was one of the biggest names in the world before Disney bought Marvel and a continuance for a series many people have nostalgic memories about. How can any of that happen if at least most were entertaining?
