Wow, is there really no mass inflation stories?
>>47498 I think the reason is that, in both a writing and artistic sense, it’s a very heavy undertaking because it’s hard to capture the sense of global weight gain or inflation and it requires a lot of planning. Even if it’s not global and merely a mass weight gain or mass inflation style thing with only a few people.

Maybe I’m wrong, what do you think?
>>46373
Isn't this from Absolon's scrapped comic from a few years ago? Got anymore pages?

That's it. That's the idea.

Does anyone have a cleaner version of this?
I have an idea for a global inflation story
>An pink, balloon-like alien race appears in the solar system and takes notice of Earth
>They are horrified by humanity’s destructive capabilities and resolve to end it.
>They unleashed hundreds of probes across the world which, at a push of a buttom, shoot beams with inflate everyone on the planet in nearly an instant.
>The probes then use another beam to grab everyone and take them to a massive ship
>everyone is changing into colored bodysuits and are placed into tight color coded cells.
>everyone is shot by one last beam with puffs up their cheeks, making their eyes bug out (not Uber inflation, just cross eyed.
>The aliens then announce to the population that they are confiscating earth and its resources.
>The people of earth are now an army of balloons trapped in cells as the aliens take over earth, they also take some humans as pets.

How is this idea?

Women discover it's possible to inflate and become a water bed, an air bed, or a helium balloon and float.

Following >>47804’s trend. Here’s an idea for global inflation (or in my case weight gain)

> two witches meet for a duel
> they case super fattening spells at each other but miss,
> the town they’re fighting in is affected, turning everyone immobile.
> the witches duel ends with neither one winning.
> they soon discover what happened.
> impressed by the others work, the two witches reconcile and turn themselves into massive blobs to reign over the other fattened people.

That’s all I got Absolon has the comic on hiatus and probably not finish it
Mild Slob Warming.

> A factory has a gas leaks
> The gas turned everyone who smells it into immobile blobs
> The Blobs also brup and fart out the gas.
> The whole world is transformed.
> Years later, everyone relays on machines to do anything.
> The gas turns out to be a power source.
> Many people are hooked up and turned into generators.
> A fat shy nerd girl has a miserable life
> Make’s a wish upon a shooting start
> Wishes that she was better and was more important
> Next day she wakes up to fine she’s incredibly beautiful and slim.
> Everyone in the world is now a fat and shy nerd.
> They worship the girl as a god.
> Girl is reluctantly made the queen of earth
> On New Year’s Eve, hundreds of people gather to watch the ball drop
> Everyone is eagerly waiting to be “new”
> Once the countdown hits one, the ball opens, and everyone present inflates to the size of Houses
> Their heads, hands, and feet are sucked into their ballooned bodies.
> Their clothes stretch with them
> Everyone floats into a giant cloud of inflated people.
> A woman spontaneously gains weight one day
> She nice has a round and smooth fat body
> More and More people start to spontaneously fatten up
> 2 governments agents discover a scientist who plans to turn everyone fat with a bio weapon.
> the 2 agents fail and become the biggest and the fattest of the infected.
> The agents fall in love with both each other and their bodies.
> They grow to the size of islands
> The world is soon infected with the fat virus
> In order to reach a planet light years away, Millions of colonist are put into all white bodysuits and placed in stasis pods.
> During the several thousand year trip, the colonists start to absorb the stasis fluid.
> By the time the colonists make it to the planet, they are all fat, the fluid also dramatically slowed their their aging and ability to lose weight
> Thousands of years later, the planet has turned into a obese paradise, where people willingly absorb more stasis fluid to become fatter and worship their now skintight white bodysuits.
Does feature clonifacation

> One day, a mysterious broadcast is shown all over the world
> It features a large group of women dressed in one piece swimsuits.
> The suits are textured like country flags
> A nation is called and the corresponding woman steps forward
> The woman declares that “Everyone in (Insert Country) Is fat.
> When this happens, everyone in that country turns into a fat clone of the woman
> This happens until everyone has transformed.
> The women in the broadcast then teleport away.
> Every landmass in the world is replaced with the country women, who are now massively fat.
>>48083 Maybe these stories wouldn’t be so shot if they gotten some feedback that wasn’t “IdEa bAd, mE BaRiN huRt” But you know what, I’ll fair, give us your idea for a global inflation/weight gain story, surely you can prove how good you are.
>>48083 You know what, I was a little too hostile just now. I’ll own up and say that I was overly defensive. But to be fair, most of my ideas were made in the middle of the night with me making shit up as I went along, but please, next time you feel the need to point out someone’s bad idea, maybe say what the problems are and give solutions instead of just saying it’s bad idea, or just don’t bother with a response.
I figured that no one wants the thread to turn into a wall of text unrelated to the topic so I’m shutting this down now before we waste both of our times.
Whether or not you respond, it’s your choice but either way, it’s done.
This may come off as a surprise to everyone else, but I believe that global weight gain/inflation scenarios are horrifying if you reeeaally think about it.

> In the far future, people are force to undergo a surgery.
> This surgery makes people inflate when they are in danger or feel strong emotions.
> One day, a woman inflates and her body keeps expanding due to a malfunction
> She floats off into the night.
Christmas theme this time. (Also Tf Warming)

> A town gets ready to celebrate Christmas.
> As per the town’s tradition, the people rise a massive tree in the center of town.
> Through a magical machine, the people inflate into ornaments.
> The last person becomes the star in top of the tree.
> The ornaments then pop, releasing dozens of presents and turning the person back to normal
> The people excitedly wait for next year
> A video is uploaded on the internet.
> It features a still image of crocodile with a fish eye lens with the text: Got head?
> Upon viewing the video, people’s head’s Inflate into faceless orbs with hair, short followed by their body inflating.
> The inflated people send the video to more people, creating a cycle

An idea I’ve had for a while so feedback is welcome.

> We follow a husband and wife watching a movie.
> They comment about how skinny people use to be.
> The Husband and Wife are revealed to be fat in skin colored bodysuits.
> They leave the theatre to reveal everyone is fat and wearing these bodysuits.
> The couple go home to sleep, they stand on a machine which has tubes enter the suits butt.
> They suits inflate and are balanced by a device to prevent them from rolling.
>They are completely consumed by the inflatable suits. (They really are fat, the suits allowed them to sleep without laying down.)
> Inside the suit is fluid for them to float and sleep standing up.
> The next day, the couple deflate and start a new day.

y'know what's an underrated idea? the Axiom

every human on that ship was filling their chair and lazing their days away, eating delicious meals and enjoying themselves, they didn't need to do anything and were comfy with what they had

and yet nobody seems to use it, aside from two artists on DA I see no one else trying to use that idea

so to that I ask, what would y'all think you'd look like living on the Axiom?

where did you get "older people think younger people suck and slavery ended a while ago" from "hey I think the Axiom would be a cool idea for WG stories/art"

I think you're in the wrong place, we talk about fun art about several million people and how it would effect the world here, not the effects of older generations efforts on the current youth.

bumpin'
well, until someone comes out with more global WG/inflation art and stories, I'll throw some ideas up for y'all to enjoy

based around the concept of Life Fibers from Kill La Kill, but instead its something even less people would think were alive.

imagine 100-ish years in the future, humanity has just achieved inter-galaxy travel and now everyone on earth is having a party, food is being glorious eaten in humanity's achievement everywhere, everyone is enjoying the excess thanks to earths rising abundance in food, crops are growing like crazy, animals are so fat they produce a feast, fast food has become fast and mass produced. everyone is too excited and happy to notice that the food they're eating has turned an alluring pink color, and that now when they eat, they can't put their food down.

weeks go by and bellies start touching the floor, teens are the first to explode in size and reach the top demographic of the neo-obesity epidemic, none of them can put it down, much less thanks to exams happening, their sausage fingers get rounder and softer, their breasts make up their desks. then the men and women of the world start lazing back at the excess, barely raising a finger as they order their food automatically, barely moving to feed themselves, their hedonism only matched by the college and university students indulging themselves to calm down after a stressful study session.

eventually the whole planet is conquered by their own weight, their space travel for not as the plague of bellies reaches deep into space, humans of all kinds where getting bigger and fatter, from the moment their born to their old age they pig out over delicious food, becoming like the live stock they eagerly eat, and it's all thanks, to sugar

(alternatively, it could be something like salt or something, whatever fits your story~)

>>60220
>Fast food has become fast and mass produced.
It already is.
>Sugar makes people obese.
It already does.

This is equally as unoriginal and generic as the slop cooked up by the last anon who tried to parade their bare-minimum drabbles around here. The entire scenario you've just described is literally nothing more than "HuRR DUrR, pEOpLe EaT A LOt OF fOoD AnD get ReaL FAT. BUt Uh Oh, TheRE's SOMEtHinG WRONg WIth tHe fOoD AND IT MAkEs thEM EVen fATTER THAn REGUlAr Food !!!" There is literally nothing original or interesting about this idea, I don't even understand why you pointed out the influence from Kill la Kill because its barely apparent. Your overall prose and writing style is also just dull.

This is no different than the swathes of milquetoast unoriginal fatty fics that already plague the bottom dredges of DA, aspire to be better than this anon.
>>60223

Genuinely curious. How would you improve it?
What about instead of sugar and fat to use a fictitious chemical that makes food addictive and fattening or have food replicators to make food abundant and plentiful?
>>60223

yeah, in hindsight it is quite bare bones looking at it, fairly late when I wrote it so I have to sorry for that

could have incorporated the space part more into the weight gain, include some stronger ties (pardon the joke) to Kill La Kill, maybe having whoever ate the sugar have their bellies/fat turn that pink color? and while I agree with the thought of changing it from sugar to "inconspicuous chemical no.1", part of the original point was having it be something no one would suspect would be space born... anymore than everything else on earth

also I have to note, your point of how to improve it

>>60253

that's kinda what sugar already is, very sorry if that came off as rude

I promise to try and improve my writings skills Anon!

Okay. For starters this prompt doesn't even really take advantage of its own setting, so if I were writing this I would consider the inherent implications of humanity being capable of deep space travel in this world. The way I see it, it'd be the people up in space who'd be the first to fall victim to the epidemic.

Consider the fact that space is a zero gravity environment, so anyone in a ship or station is going to be experiencing a sense of weightlessness. This immediately eliminates the encumberment factor of being obese, if gravity isn't affecting you then your actual body weight is almost a non-factor. Ergo if people don't feel physically burdened by being fat then a lot of the negative stigma around it completely erodes and the fatties themselves will cease to care about their body health for the most part.

Space itself is also a limiting environment, even if you're on a gigantic ship its still a restctrive and confined area. The surronding space will just be a black void of nothing, it's not like on Earth where you can just drive off to somewhere else on the weekened if you get bored of being at home. So, people living in that sort of environment for extended periods of time would get bored of the repetiton over time and may end up being inclined to living more sedantry, less active lifestyles as they tire of exploring the same corridors over and over again.

That's a long-winded explanation of various factors that could lead to people in space getting fat. Now here's a very quick and dirty story outline that takes into consideration those ideas with the scenario anon suggested:

Humanity achieves inter-galaxy travel, sends an astronaut team into space. Astronaut team begin to passively gain weight and become nonchalant to getting fatter due to the factors I mentioned earlier. Simultaneous to this they're all unwittingly infected with a space-born pathogen that aggravates their appetites. Obese atronauts return to Earth, hailed as heroes. As they get in contact with people the pathogen begins to spread from person to person, a combination of the pathogen's physical effects and the astronaut team's influence on society and pop culture is what leads to the obesity epidemic.

Through seeing these fat astronauts in the media, people's negative thoughts and opinions on obesity begin to shift to the other direction. The pathogen's physical effects works in tandem with this societal shift and influences people to eat more. Entire population of Earth gradually becomes obese yadda yadda, eventually fatties begin clamouring to board commercial spaceflights so they can be as fat as they want without having to worry about being encumbered. The only people who end up remaining on Earth are those who already reached immobility and are therefore incapable of boarding a spaceship, those people get bigger ad infinitum and Earth becomes a wasteland full of helpless blobs.

Very long-winded, but there you go. Its an extrapolation of anon's idea but taking into consideration the context of the setting. Not claiming to be Shakespeare here, but I think it's much more interesting than "People eat pink food infected by living sugar and get fat." , whilst still being an easy to understand concept.
>>60220

I actually kind of like the idea you were going with, basically a sentient foodstuff controlling the minds of the masses and making them obese.

There was an old horror movie called “The Stuff” about people discovering an alien ooze underground. It looked similar to ice cream or marshmallow, and people found that that it was not only delicious, but highly addictive. So, obviously, a bunch of corporations started harvesting and selling the stuff, not knowing that repeated consumption essentially turned people into zombies.

I think you could take a concept like that and just replace the zombie part with turning the victims into mindless fat slobs.
>>60334

yeah I heard of the film, wouldn't recommend it to people but it's interesting (if personally disgusting)
>>60261
I feel like there was a story on Fantasy Feeder pretty similar to this but it didn't play out in the manner you described. It was titled "The Lipomass" and (if I'm remembering correctly) its premise was that a meaty mass from space crashes into Earth and anyone who touches it becomes ensnared and swells with fat over the next couple of days until they're a total blob with their head and limbs completely submerged in their own fat rolls. It's basically treated as an apocalypse.

What is interesting about it is that it's a collection of different stories told in this setting. You get the perspective and thoughts of stragglers wandering through the blob filled ruins of civilization or the perspectives of victims who are in the process of becoming blobs or already are. I remember a specific chapter that wasn't about anyone in particular and was simply describing the fallout of an area hit hard by the lipomass. I recommend checking it out.
>>60397
Yeah, it's the second one.

The only real "global inflation" story I can think of is this one anime, Dororon Enma kun Meeramera, where a youkai takes over the world by spreading an infection that causes people to get big, round, and monstrously hungry. The main characters are like, teenage children, though, so it isn't the best example
I am, however, planning a global inflation story of my own, where a rogue AI decides that the best way to improve the world is to inflate everyone (it is set in a furry world, so if that's not your cup of tea, I'm sorry)
