we are lucky to even have devs that are willing to make these games, retard.
most of these are made purely within the freetime that one man dev teams have while still managing their normal lives.
the games themselves arent even remotely profitable (if a patreon or payment/donation is even attached) so they are made purely out of passion.
and since they are passion projects you cant expect the devs to just slave away at the game every free minute they have, thats a one way ticket to losing all passion and dropping the project entirely.
being eternally unfinished is a very small price to pay. and if anything because they are fetish games the occasional updates are better because it gives you a reason to replay for more content later.

Comes and goes I think, but it feels like it's been getting steadily worse over this last year especially. Kind of beating a dead horse but this year's game jam was nauseatingly bad imo. The only things I really look forward to on there now are Debu Complex and Fill Me Up, or just the odd Japanese game that I find. As of now I'm working on RPGMV game where a main character get's isekai'd into a pretty much cliche-ish fantasy world.
A core idea is that the main character has an affinity towards magic (classic) and is also into the girls that are uh... bigger.
You'd have a variety of options to achieve your goals. Ideally, you'd like to not get caught with your doings, but it may depend on which plot line are you on.

Regarding the latter, I'd like to know what your suggestions/ideas are. I know it's pretty vague of the moment, but I don't want to post a nothing burger stuffed with basic rpgmaker files either.

the the first two are all furshit but:

the mod does go up to hyperblob sizes, and even has a specific ending for planetary+ size if you are into that.
but the game is terribly balanced with lots of RNG bullshit, please just pirate rimworld if you want to play this mod

I'm more of a straight first person perspective kind of guy in terms of my preferred content, both in pictures and games I play, sadly that's getting quite niche now.

I'm big into customizable sandboxes where you can effectively self-insert. As far as text games I'd recommend, don't get your hopes up as honestly there is not that much out there by default, and I strongly suggest learning to do some light modding. If you like some other stuff in addition to fats your options go up.
Keep in mind this list goes down in terms of content I find relevant, far as whats readily available and many can be grindy as fuck to get the content you want:

-Fetish Master with the relevant fat mod: Not 100% but it is kind of easy to ignore the MC/Proxy thing at the start. Just get two characters and use one as a feedee, there are 2 characters added by the mod with some relevant content. One of those games I usually play with cheats on in dev mode mind you. I've also done a few personal tweaks on my end with this one. Aside from directly feeding them in game you can use cheats/dev mode to customize characters more to your liking because fuck waiting for RNG to deliver one that catches your interest.
I do have this one reoccurring glitch where a vomit-loop causes their weight to go into the negatives, annoying as fuck and possibly something I broke myself through some of my light and inexperienced modding.

-Freecities: Fat Cities Mod: Kind of barebones in the way I play it and unless I installed this wrong I didn't really notice much in terms of any actual events being added. Probably because I ignored the MC fat content which is not to my preference as I generally avoid being the MC-fem-feedee but it might be more your thing.
Both of the above can be found on weight gaming in the archives somewhere wasting away under the flood of SFW VNs, RPGMaker, and Unity games instead of having more content added to them.

Everything else on this list becomes more mixed in other fetishes the further you go keep in mind, once again I've found there's just almost nothing out there that appeals to me specifically:
-EraTohoK: Bonus points if you love 2hus, I do so these games are something I keep coming back to eventually. Acknowledges the girls you're fucking as chunky/slim/etc in the sex texts and they can be customized. Keep in mind a few of the girls have additional dialogue that contradicts any physical changes you may give them, but that's more of an immersion breaking character specific issue. A few other Eragames may or may not do this, I'm not sure. Can also customize the portraits yourself if you want to do so.

-Liliths Throne: Lookit'sfuckingnothing.jpeg: Contains demons/furries/monster girls. Now, this HAS the mechanics in place for fat/thin/tall/short but it doesn't really do much of anything with it, even in the fuck dialogue. Even the relevant fetishes for those things aren't implemented. Hoping someone more qualified than me will mod this one day as what I can do with it is extremely limited but it does scratch some of my other itches at least. You can use your own character portraits and customize the MC and generic characters which you can add to your harem. The sandbox is its real strongsuit.
However don't expect any meaningful updates from the dev sometime this century that isn't adding some worthless subspecies of animal or dong color some patreon supporter wanted amidst the "sorry I couldn't update this month because I was waiting in line at the post office" excuses.

As a writer that's dabbled in writing non-fetish scripts for Ren'Py I can state based on my experience that the thing holding game dev back isn't lack of writers or writing tools ("AI" is not going to make a mediocre writer good) so much as:
- Having all the skills necessary to make a game

- Having the time, resources and enthusiasm to see it through.

Back when the site was new, folk were pretty stoked at finally having a space for our games, after decades of sporadic shit here and there. Over time, that lustre and project individuality (everyone thinks they're an auteur without something to measure their ability against) brings everything crashing down to eaerth, with the few group projects being weighed down by team leads not understanding and embracing the role of a producer rather than a developer.

If you don't have all three prerequisites and try to make a game solo, you will probably disappoint either other people or yourself, that's how it be.

The irony is what a lot of people say they want (gib smexs plox, fast gains nao, fuck gameplay i want fappable art) doesn't help with making a game good and trying to fulfil that leads to games where you end up with a shallow and flat experience.

You've probably figured it out by now, but all you need to do is go through the game losing to every encounter with the ghost, then doing nothing to save the village and castle that are destroyed as a consequence. The one exception is the ghost encounter at the farm, losing that one is a game over no matter what.

I don't really like the bad ending, though. It's less corruption and more like the MC immediately getting possessed by the villain.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I loath the Patreon Model so many are choosing to use. It's worse when it's not merely like $1-$2 a month for acces to the game. When it's getting to $5 -$7 a month for access to the game (that's still being worked on) per title that quickly adds up if you want to support more than 1 or two. It leads to market saturation far quicker.
It's why subscription porn sites etc are far less common now compared to pay once stuff like clips 4 sales.

More devs need to consider an up front cost model. You want me to pay you $25 on Itch.io for access to the game basically being made in early access? Sure I'll do that because then every update costs me nothing and I don't have to stay subscribed or miss out. I get the full game eventually or if it collapses well I still have access to what was there and maybe it can be picked up later and continued or whatever. I hate the subscribe for access model because the moment I stop I lose access pretty much.

I think after the last Burden update, I took what I thought would be a couple months off from it to pursue a string of collab projects that did not pan out -- I had this incredible idea for a stock trading simulator with VN elements about corporate greed and all, which I made a functional prototype for with different stocks, a moving ticker, corporate mergers... but the artist I was working with got busy, and I have not heard from them in months. There were a few other things that also petered out, but the main thing is I have been pretty painfully busy since then with a giant project at work that leaves me too drained to even think about coding once I get home.
