I don't think the hatred for AI is unanimous on other boards, that seems like more of a response bias. Chilloutmix. No Lora. I think, if you try and go with Caucasian with this, there's not much training data to go on and it produces similar faces. But that's just a hunch as it's a predominately Korean model.

Surprising very little inpainting. Most of it was generate 20 and pick from the best looking. One set didn't have the face I wanted so I copy and pasted a head and ran it through at a low denoise to blend the edges.

I'll post a bigger writeup on this later but I use the photosomnia model with the x/y plot script on a1111 and prompt s/r function. I'll put something like (very thin body type:1.1) in the prompt, which will get replaced by (overweight bottom heavy body type:1.2) or anything similar, then just keep increasing the weight until you're done. The seed stays the same. I also added bbw lora on the last image because it draws fat much better than a model that isn't specifically trained for that. The process is very tweak-heavy, especially when doing photorealistic stuff and with this model specifically you need to be VERY detailed. I'll drop some more outputs later and a catbox so yall can try it out too.

It really doesn't play well with controlnet for openpose though, I have to deal with some horrendous faces and hands in the first few steps to get something I like the look of.

Lora is RealBBW https://civitai.com/models/37813/real-bbw (this lora and F222 with DPM++ SDE Karras can produce some pretty decent results right out the gate depending on your prompt quality - pic rel)

But generally speaking I batch out a couple quick 512x512 Eular a images to find something I like then send it to img2img
From there I try to tidy up features as best as I can with inpainting, DPM++ SDE Karras on a 2x scale until i'm generally happy with it a 512 then run it through Controlnet tiling and an upscaler. Each iteration tends to add some artifacts that I paint out in inpaint but this gets much harder/longer the higher scale you go.

Spend more of your actual time on getting a good image at a smaller resolution to save you the hassle of trying to fix things when they're at 4k+ resolution

Been working on upping my realism. Apologies for the lack of embedded info, as my process involves layering parts of images together to create a cohesive image.

Currently using a Radeon VII with a1111, and I cannot for the life of me get inpainting to work. Anyone here run into that issue? I've tried tons of settings and models, and literally nothing changes in my inpainted areas (unless I use latent fill, in which case the inpainted areas are just filled with color-averaged noise).

In terms of gen quality, certainly. SDXL has more parameters than SD1.5 (~2.5 billion vs 800 million - I think -) and thus can produce more complex images.
It produces images natively in 1024x1024, which is 4x bigger than SD1.5, and so there is more space for details. It also tends to understand the prompt better, and you don't need to overengineer your prompt.

The big issue for me is that it is very resource-intensive, especially on consumer hardware.
SD1.5 is great for that and will still stay around for quite a while just because of that.
Training LoRAs and fine-tuning is a bitch on SDXL. I have a 24GB card, and training a LoRA takes at the very least 50 minutes for a "quick and dirty" one. On SD1.5, it takes 10 minutes.

Another drawback is that it is harder to produce "true likeness" LoRA on SDXL. I'm not quite sure yet if it's because of the network size or because the proper tooling is not there yet (no training for the refiner model, text encoder training is very random).
On the other hand, training concept and style is easier on SDXL than on SD1.5.

For example, the Boberry LoRA I've teased took me 3 hours of training, and I'm currently at version 24! (so 24 x 3h = 72h of trial and error), and the dataset is top-notch. I've manually edited all of the 100 pictures to get the most out of them.

I didn't train any models or LoRAs, the most I've done is merge a couple checkpoints (currently a 50/50 split of NextPhoto V3 and BiggerGirlsModels_bgREAL). The first photo in the message you linked is 100% generated, while the others are a blend of morph work and img2img processing. All the images I create/generate are composite work: I'll generate something that looks pretty good but has borked details, then I'll reprocess specific sections (like faces and hands) to get better details where needed. Inpainting just doesn't work on my end, plus I wind up getting extra details anyway when I just fully reprocess sections. I'll also touch up the 'final' images once I have something I'm mostly happy with, like color balancing and adding depth of field.

Yeah, and I don't think we'll ever get there exactly. Dreaming up coherent novel concepts with only lateral extrapolation is wildly more difficult than the kit-bashing SD does. Dall-E 3 and Midjourney have made some strides in that direction, but I honestly believe it'll be a long while before they get to magic-image-button level.

Sure, sorry for so long waiting. I completely missed it. Here are some of the images with cleaned up prompt.

My "secret sauce" here is (mostly through many trial and errors on my potato laptop using Automatic111 UI, but I can be completely wrong and just hallucinating):

1. Use a custom merge consisting of either 2-3 models, where the first one is the good base "fat" such as Aurora, GAME, 150kg or Bigger Girls serie. Then merge directly with one or two semi-realistic models with 0.4 - 0.6 ratio (EpicRealism, NextPhoto, BrownAngels, AmIReal). The models merged are in the filename with ratios.

2. In prompt, use hentai artists / style LoRas. With enough fat anime base these works pretty well.

3. In prompt, use some realistic fat LoRas, such as some of the actual real models to lean towards realistic look.

4. In prompt, improve realism - using a combination of film grain + realism helper LoRas (such as Velvia, epicRealismHelper) and kkw embeddings.

In low-res mode there may be often artifacts, bad hands, eyes. But when selecting highres fix (4xNMKD Superscale model), it works pretty well.

Note that when applying many LoRas, it's good to keep them with low strength. Otherwise, many aftifacts can appear. Finding a good combination of LoRas to mix can be sometimes tricky, as can generate both mess or completely unexpected, but really cool results.
