The problem I have with this explanation is that the "gluttony" on display in Gluttony is just the same old hedonism that's anywhere else in hell.

It's literally not distinct enough to be considered it's own sin there, where as Greed is mafioso themed(notorious for greedy behavior and doing nasty things for money), Lust(literally a redlight district), Pride(Beverly Hills, but in hell), Sloth(everything is agonizingly slow there, especially the paperwork), or Wrath(Western/country themed where a bar fight or a showdown is bound to happen at least once a day).

Gluttony just didn't have it's own unique part to it, it just looked like it was just something in a convention hall, or some rich kid's mansion.
