She thought I was crazy for liking her and thinking her body was attractive but assumed because I’m American I just had no idea what I was talking about and just thought because I was American I just was too used to seeing fat bodies. Over the course of a year she started putting on weight because I constantly spoiled and encouraged her to overeat and freaked out and apologized and was really upset about how much she put on so I finally came clean and told her I was a feeder and liked it. She was a bit confused because they don’t even have a word or a concept of what a feeder or feederism as a whole is in her language and culture so I had to explain it to her and she took it pretty well. She said that her ex wanted her to lose weight in the past and she was happy to do it and that this situation is no different and that she’s happy to get fat if that’s my preference.

At first I wasn’t really feeding her, or open with the fact I wanted her to gain weight. I didn’t reveal that until recently. I’ve been sort of like doing my best to just encourage her and then we have like a date night once a month an every once in awhile I’ll like buy her snacks so she has stuff to eat when she’s home. Honestly I’m not sure. I think I’ll just try and feed her more and more and encourage her and try buying her more food. She loves the mall, jollibee and boba so I’ll try and feed into that addiction. She sort of said that she doesn’t want to be too big to have kids but at her age it’s doubtful she’ll have any, she has expressed concern of rescuing 200kgs because she’s afraid if she gets that big and I ghost she’ll never find another man, but I try and reassure her as much as I can.

My in laws are very friendly people and we get along very well. In a lot of south east Asian cultures they are very blunt about telling people they are overweight (especially women). Even before I met my wife her mum and some of her extended family used to comment on her being overweight at 5'2" and 60kg, saying she'll never get a husband and she doesn't look very attractive. The first time I met one of her aunties was a couple years after we were together and she just straight asked me "why are you are you with [my wife], she is so fat?". The conversation basically continued with her being genuinely shocked that I could possibly find her attractive at all, then she started showing me pictures of my wife when she was a teenager commenting "look how thin and beautiful she is". I always explain that I love my wife and she is very beautiful, but they just cant seem to process that information. I think if I ever tried to tell them we both enjoy my wife's size and actively try to make her fatter then their minds would melt.

They never seem to accuse me of fattening her up however, it's always my wife's fault that she got so fat. We've talked about it a lot because I'm always concerned she gets upset with the constant comments and judgement. Her response is that it doesn't bother her because no matter how thin she got they would just fond something else to criticise. For me it seems like a very toxic culture and/or family dynamic but I don't concern myself with it because its unlikely to change. She's since moved to the UK and we're both happy, we only see her family once or twice a year after she's gained another few kilos.
