So I looked into the manga version of this weight gain. The girl's name is Marie and she's a part of the MFG Angels, she's introduced in chapters 18 and 55, in the manga she has a lot more focus and a lot more character, it seems the anime cut out a lot of the MFG angels scenes and dumbed down most of the girl's personality. Her weight gain is addressed in chapter 117, but you can see her start to get rounder in chapter 66, she stays chubby for the rest of the series, she even gains more weight in chapters 160 and 227 (hopefully that gets added to the anime too). The art kind of sucks but it's still a decent slow burn weight gain, if y'all want I can add every chapter she prominently appears in since I went through the whole series and out of all 275 chapters she only shows up in 22 of them

I can safely say there's about 10 panels of male stuffing, it's a joke manga with 10-20 page long chapters, and at the end it'll say which characters gained weight, but funnily only one of the background boys gains visible weight, everyone else just has a single stuffed panel at the end of a chapter, if anything.
It's "ongoing" but I think it'll be a few years before a second part is released.
I really thought that there'd be more weight gain after the free sample chapter set it up.

The way that the whole arc and its resolution were handled was one of the most infuriating and frustrating moments of my entire life, it legit made me wish I was into something like feet instead of weight gain or fat bitches, because with those the authors usually don't tease you with the hottest feet you've ever seen and then break them with a sledgehammer, burn them to a crisp and chop them off.

I realized that there will never be a good representation of chubby/fat supremacy in anime.

There is no way a fatphobic country like japan is going to show fat girls without making them look/sound like a pig. Even mangas that have fat girls in them or if chubby girls are the main focus they then treat the weight gain as an obstacle and have the girls lose the weight at the end.

Even if a popular fat fetish manga gets an anime it will just go to a random studio that produces slop like the Plus Sized Elf anime for example which while it was cool it even got an anime the animation was just shit.

Im not saying I want mappa to animate a girls belly jiggle at 4k, but at least show that having more than 1% body fat doesnt mean youre a pig who always have some food in there hand. I just want them to show that the character is happy with her weight and is treated normally just like all the other characters.

The only way I could see good fat girls in anime is if the mangaka actually has a preference for it and doesnt use it just as a "shes a pig" trope and that the character is just a small side character in an isekai or action anime because thats where the studio pour all the money into. If Mushoku Tensei or JJK for example had like a fat side character im sure they would represent it well.

I don’t know if this was posted before but, there is a series called Mahou Shoujo 201 that’s about a 30 year old woman named Fujiyama Shinobu who is a constant girl failure, and financial failure.
