The main characters including her, Azu, are witches and they're trying to grant peoples deepest wishes to complete their training. The model, Rinko, comes to their flower shop and they decide to grant her wish, noting she's conflicted about being a plus sized model still and wants to feel better about herself, but Azu lashes out thinking Rinko is just trying to lose weight "the easy way" and yells out how she hates fat people, running off and locking herself in her room where she changes, saying again to herself how she hates fat people.

Consider how obsessed with looks she is and the way she spoke, it looks and sounds like Azu was treated badly in the past for being heavy, internalized that treatment, and began using her magic to make herself look skinny and be more accepted. Her yelling at Rinko was more accurately just self loathing spilling over, I'm guessing she tried dieting in the past and it didn't work out or she has a glandular issue and she thought Rinko was trying to just wish away the weight. The promo for the next episode even has her say "'Being yourself?' Only girls with a pretty face say that crap!" So it seems like its gonna be the standard learning to love yourself message. She'll probably still hide her heavy self since the thinner self is better for marketing in the notoriously fatphobic japan, but I don't think she'll be losing the weight.

Honestly, a disappointment if you expected much from Azu. Here's a handful of screenshots. There are slightly more, but nothing interesting. Episode itself is kinda meh itself if you're interested in the show's concept.

Rinko, the plus size model, has a lot of material and she is a bit cuter than the last episode, but there's a lot to sort through, and I'm too tired.

Also, Azu technically never loses weight by the end, and I'm slightly curious how they'll handle it when she'll need to go to the real world with the other girls, but I would not hold my breath that it'll be a running plot point or anything like that.

Another semi-painful find, this time it's Joshikou Scum (女子高スカム) (https://www.pixiv.net/user/2914335/series/203666) and its spin-off (?) Joshikou Grindhouse (女子高グラインドハウス) (https://www.pixiv.net/user/2914335/series/39793). While the original story (Joshikou Scum) contains a few instances of bloating, the Grindhouse spin-off is the main subject, since it features one of the characters, the tall, pink-haired girl gaining weight and presumably keeping it until the end of the Grindhouse series.
Why presumably? In the description to the spin-off, the author himself mentioned that the "chronological order is all over the place", making it unclear whether the events of these spin-offs occur before, during or after the main story, or if they're even canon in the first place, but the last spin-off chapter to feature her still depicts her as overweight, so there's that. The series was also never translated, so the context of why she suddenly became obsessed with junk food and got fat in the spin-off is lost on me and seems a bit out of the left field.
Moreover, the third episode of the spin-off her brings her back to her initial size and given the author's aforementioned note that the order is all over the place, it's left ambiguous whether she's lost weight after the first spin-off episode or if it's set before the first one; it has to be one of these two options, because all of the later spin-off episodes depict her as fat.
It seems that this mystery can only be solved by either meticulously translating everything or asking the author directly, who's apparently still active on Twitter (https://x.com/freshmeatchang2).

Her best friend, the red-haired girl with pigtails, is a really good cook as well as an owner of a food cart and seems enjoy making food for the pink-haired girl to indulge in, which could be a part of it.
Moreover, it's quite possible that the weight actually sticks; a flashback in episode 6 of the Grindhouse is stated to have occured 2 years prior. The events of the flashback in question are depicted in episode 3 of the Gridnhouse, where the pink-haired girl is still skinny, meaning that it probably took place in before or in between the events of the main story, or even shortly after it ended. Regardless, there is a clear continuity to this whole story and the fact that the Grindhouse episodes 9 and 11 still depict her as chubby makes it even more likely that she gains weight shortly after the main story concludes and then never loses it.
Whatever the case may be, I find it really hot how the stereotypical airhead bimbo with big boobs and a wasp waist is the one who ends up becoming the overfed fatty of the cast. Lastly, my translations indicate that the pink-haired girl's name is something along the lines of Chiharu Misumi.

Well they are a pretty skinny country, being a little fat/having a potbelly would equal being super duper fat to them. Anime/manga can be guilty of Hollywood Fat, how many weight gain scenes are just people being a little chubby and yet the story treats them as though they're as big as a sumo wrestler, or have a super duper big belly when at most they're a little fat. For women, it could also be when they're curvy, the story says that the reason she has big boobs/butt is because she's a porker stuffing herself on candy and pastries when in fact she's just curvy and has a body most women would dream of and the standard sexy female build most male artists give to their women. Unless they have a prominent gut, thicker thighs, I would not call them fat.

I admit, Yotaka could be a bit older (at about her late 30s) to fully cement it. But I'll be honest here, I accept this due it following both the "Retired Badass" and "Formerly Fit" tropes. And I'm not gonna lie, I don't like Sakamoto days because of the way his face is designed.

Mahou Shoujo 201; that's in the volume 1 extras where she's dreaming she's a kid again and a magical girl. The manga's pretty much dripping with plump moments and one time where she actually gains weight. The way that fuck up is, if it wasn't for her shit income and Mamu sticking to her rules involving money, Fujiyama would be an absolute fatty.

I'm gonna make it a goal to get translations of this series out as it comes out weekly!

The series has been renamed to "Hochiya-san wa Amari Aru," which I would probably translate as "Hochiya-san's a Bit Much." There's also a new protagonist, and there's definitely a focus on her chubby figure on the serialized version (such as the title being a pun on her personality and weight).

No chapter of Yotaka Futatabi this week, but the author left us this drawing and we can expect a new chapter the next one for sure.

She's probably fine, girl walked off falling from a literal mountain and getting stabbed in the head with no problem. Plus the fact we don't explicitly see her dead means she probably isn't, this comic isn't shy about showing people dying.

I just hope she gets some actual closure or development later down the line. She's the only "monster" in the series so far that's been given a tragic backstory, we're clearly meant to sympathize with her on some level.

The anime "A mangaka’s weirdly wonderful workplace" says that the MC is "gaining weight from midnight snacking", but after watching the series the only time she brings up her weight is in one episode (ep 9), and it's not noticeable at all and in the manga it's revealed she only gained 4kg
