Basically this. There's a few examples out there (Feast Manor by CupCupMug comes to mind) but they're at their most basic. To be fair I got stuck at Feast Manor's door for a while and I do so love a game that can make me feel retarded, because then the catharsis earned on solving the puzzle is unmatched.

But the idea of a full-length point-and-click adventure à la Grim Fandango or Curse of Monkey Island just featuring chunkers sounds so wonderful. There's a few writers out there whose games I've played that are probably funny enough to accomplish it, but it needs assets and programming, too, and you're right. There's doesn't seem to be an easily accessible prefab engine for point-and-click, everything needs to be reverse-engineered. Like reinventing the wheel.

There is, it is called Adventure Game Studio. It's old as shit, but it was used by Yahtzee to make his Chzo Mythos titles.
The problem is that it is a lot of work for not a lot of gain. PnC games are stuck between RPGmaker games, Ren'py Visual Novels and Twine Interactive Fiction. All of these provide far more the proper 'gamefeel' with their respective genres/work, only with half the effort. And even if you are up to the task of doing all the work, people don't really like playing point-and-click games. AGS also just doesn't have the same level of marketing and notoriety as the above stuff, given how niche the genre is nowadays (something something the genre killed itself something something), so you aren't going to find the inspiration for it. You aren't going to find the crazy-ass people like Aika, creator of Trap Quest, who use some old-ass IF engine to make their magnum opus in this space because fat fetish adventure games don't exist.

I personally find it better when a weight gain game focuses on one girl with a character with one or two later being introduced. Games like Weighting Game did that great where at first it was just one girl at first, but then it made the relationship feel more real compared other Harem VN. Having a huge variety of girls is nice, but then you lose that interesting of actually caring about the relationships and their development and the girls just become "girl I have to fatten up number 3"

Most complaints here boil down to "It's not a game, just a slideshow with text" and "I just want a game where I dangle things in front of woman sprite and she get fatter". PnC can satisfy both because it has that "interactivity" feature that VNs lack, while still leaving room to tell and interesting story and actually have an interesting GAME.

Of course this is all spitballing and your realistic albeit pessimistic view is probably the correct one. But sometimes the best thing you can do to motivate people is tell them they can't do it. Hope that crazy-ass person you're talking about reads these.

As for Fatgeria as much as I would like to play the new update I really dont like how tedious it is. Walk up to a girl, read 5 min of text, add a curses, give her food, do a sidequest for her... then you repeat that 4x. Also only having a month to get all the girls too max feels stressful and I would rather preffer if it was an actual semester and maybe after each semester a new girl would get introduced?

That's the consequence of building the house first and furnishing it later. Key took a game with a little weight gain content in it and expanded it to make the player need to rush if they want to see what they can.

I heard Anna was supposed to die on Day 12 but she's still alive. Not sure if there's anything I can do with her and if fattening her does anything special.

Playing on the lowest difficulty and relying on Galina's armor upgrades helps you get through the story battles. You want to focus on the VN stuff. Yekaterina giving you money every week eliminates the debt problem, although you can't really make money through exorcisms if you do it. I don't know if she'll do anything if you try performing them again.

The eating contest route helps with getting both Galina and Valeria to gain weight quickly enough. If you're having trouble making them big quickly I recommend it.

With some of the dialogue in the game I'm hoping you can get a special epilogue with each girl. A few express the desire to mother a child for Kirill, and basically all talk about marrying him. Even the seemingly cold Milana opens up about that.

The writing is ass, though. I'm all for deep lore and shit but Progeria's worldbuilding is ass. It likes conversing about "deep" topics but it always ends up only scratching the surface. All the reincarnation, or the mythology, it all could be more streamlined, or shown in the work, but it never goes much more than discussed by these college students in very clunky exposition dumps. The world doesn't lend itself to the story it tries to tell. There's no effort in connecting the story with the gameplay. Who cares if some Leshiy anti-christ wreaks havoc out of campus if the only setting in the entire game is said campus. Who cares about terrorism and Soviet Proletariat Revolution when it only comes up on the ending. NONE of the things that happened outside mattered for any of the character inside. Everyone you can befriend/romance is a rich asshole noble; why care about the poor? The reincarnation past doesn't affect ANY of the character's personality; why care about the larger multiverse bs? That is Progeria's biggest sin: it assumes the audience cares about the woes of the big grand world right out of the bat... without giving an adequate justification of why we should care.That's what make it a pain in the ass to replay. No way in hell anyone can harem all girls in only 30 days, so only replaying can you get all the value. And now I have to bore my mind, hoping for a glock to kiss me as the brainy glass-wearing guy drone about his WW1 experience in another world for the fourth time. It totally would be far, far better to be just another VN.

That doesn't even ruffle with how disjointed the fat fetish stuff is with the rest of the game. The kink feels more like a tumor. Making it a VN would solve all the problem, really.

Galina is a sweetheart I will not tolerate such slander of her. ...But seriously he just introduced a new girl who is dirt poor and has huge self esteem issues; she's a Meganekko too.

Let me break the characters down:
Galina is a girl who tries to be a noble lady but has a variety of quirks that keep her from that and it makes her self-conscious. She's terrified of dying and not coming back. The only really bad thing about her is she wants to cheat on Georgy but you don't really see him do anything good and the game wants you to dislike him. It's clear that he sees Galina as a status symbol and nothing more, caring not for her feelings and ignoring her constantly Even when she gains over a hundred plus pounds he still sticks with her because he sees her as his property.

Lera is the resident girlfailure who despite being nobility is in terrible debt. She's a wide-eyed revolutionary with a view of Progeria that sees it as a monarchy worth toppling. You find out later that she once murdered someone which was the catalyst to her ideological shift. I think she carries the most baggage of the characters and some don't like how she tries to lose weight. She seems to be even more self-conscious than Galina and some people don't like that.

Milana is the tsundere of the bunch who is easily the meanest to Kirill but it comes off as defensive to uphold her public image. You learn later on she's actually the reincarnation of a poor girl who starved to death and because of that she has secret gluttonous tendencies. Her desire to be Kirill's feedee is more about her than him at first, but later on she expresses the desire to marry him. Her father seems to be a control freak which may drive her facade.

Anna is the newest character and seems to be the most casual besides Lera. She hates her job and her life but can't see any way out of it. You find out later on she really wants to be a mother. Galina is another character who wants to be a mother as well and I'd argue they're two of the most moral characters in the game. The most immoral character is Yekaterina with Lera following behind: Milana is somewhere in the middle.

In conclusion, not all characters in the game are bad people. Lera torturing someone to death is probably the worst thing any of them ever did. (You can't date Yekaterina so I didn't include her actions.) Milana does torture Yekaterina but not to death. This is like Huniepop where most of the girls have huge character flaws. I still argue Anna is the most moral with Galina following closely behind. I believe their live for Kirill is the most authentic. Lera comes off as an obsessed fangirl who has an unhealthy devotion to him. She hates herself and sees Kirill as the only man who could ever love her. This is why she becomes EXTREMELY JEALOUS when you go to the park with Galina, something that could be construed as barely romantic.

I'm the same person who told Key about the contest bug where it would load the wrong contest. I love the game and the characters. It just seems like the characters have transcended the world and I feel like it's the appeal for most people. I don't know what you plan to do after you're finished with Fatgeria, but I'm sure the fans would love to see more content with the girls.

I do think the girls all follow pretty well tread upon feederism tropes; Galina is naturally gluttonous, Lera you corrupt, and Milana is a somewhat dominant but very into it feedee and Anna lets you play out some other power dynamics.

You have touched upon the one thing I would critique about the game's writing though which is the romance just happens a bit too fast for me. It's ultimately not a huge deal but you go from a bit of spending time with the girls to confessing your love just too quick. It is a fetish game so that's gonna happen but that's the most inauthentic part of the writing for me.

Well Galina wants to get out of her rut of a relationship and Lera starts off as your fangirl. I do think there should be some degree of buildup. Unfortunately you can't view Galina's weight until you make her your girlfriend, which is something that doesn't happen with the other girls. This means you generally shouldn't feed her anything before you do so if you want a complete idea of how much weight she puts on overall, which is something I always look for in these games. I'm very meticulous with every pound.

There's cryptic things in the game that I still don't understand how to do. I heard you can get Milana to force Georgy to break up with Galina but I usually just kick his ass on Christmas.

Galina is the weak willed type. She's lazy and unwilling to diet. She's a foodie. I do think there is a lore explanation for this since she takes after Baccha. Lera is probably unaware Kirill likes 'em big and loses weight because she wants to impress him. Kirill won't tell her he's got a thing for the thickness. Milana is the kinkiest by far and switches from femdom to femsub on a dime. Anna is someone I haven't really done much with since I falsely believed she would die on Day 12 (Key must've changed it).

The issue some of us have (the ones of us that aren't stupid and have a decent enough attention span) is that half the writing serves the fetish, the other half was meant to tell this big story about what >>98773 was saying.

My point is that this game was written with two different visions in mind. The old vision Key originally planned, and the new vision for the romance/fetish. Most of you guys are acting like vision 1 (the original plot) somehow improves your experience of vision 2 (the fetish). Whatever connections you guys are drawing was not intended by Key (I can't prove it, but it's obvious). These two visions are completely disjoint, they don't feed into each other at all.

I don't even have a problem with it, Fatgeria is good enough that it's worth a unrelated lore dump. My critique is focused on you snobs making connections that are not there.

Love seeing Fatgeria being the center of attention here. I'm kind of feeling down at the moment, but honestly this thread provided almost nothing but support to me, for which I'm grateful to all of you.

I need to explain myself and the structure of Fatgeria. It is no secret it was a standalone game with barely any fetish elements. But you guys saw the potential in it, I decided to give it a try, and the fetish-enhanced version of the game turned out pretty well... Aside from the story, as some people say, hindering the feeding process.

I'll be honest with you. Yes. This holds me back. And continuing the development is incredibly hard, too — not in a "please respect what I'm doing" way, but in a "I'm doing my best and all I can, and actually I don't think many people could do better in my place". It would be much easier if I had a blank slate to build onto, but we are already on this journey, we are getting somewhere and if people like the results, that means I'm doing something right. We will keep on working on Fatgeria for I guess a year until we are done with Yekaterina, Anna, Alexandra and the blob stages, and then I'll start working on an entirely new project where the weight gain and story actually coexist and don't just happen to be near each other. My writing skills have grown since 2020 when I first started developing Progeria, my work ethics improved, I'm 100% sure the next game will be a feederism masterpiece our community have never seen before. But right now I want to sculpt Fatgeria (and Progeria) into the vision that I have for it, even if its really challenging and not everyone likes it.

I think you've done a good job with the girl personalities and fattening the three of them feels different which I like. I also find the part of them being slobby nobles to be pretty hot, if I had to offer one criticism I would like to see that humiliation aspect of it played up a bit more. You get a bit with Galina through Gregory's complaining about his fat GF and there is one scene with Milana where you dispel her illusion and another classmate comments on it but I would like to see more people comment on the rapid fattening of the girls. In any case you're doing a great job working with what you have and I do think the writing has improved which is important; part of the advantage of being a game is you get to mix different media types and I think good writing is just as important as having good images.

I think there are parts in the game that if they were cut would improve the game or if things were simplified to make it more enjoyable. I understand that youre trying to show a deeper meaning by how manipulation can show hidden sides in people which in this games case is gluttony, but its hard to see that when its suppose to be a porn game.
